About This Cookbook
Years ago, our family held many family reunions or “get together” in Conecuh County many of which revolved around Homecoming at the Hamden Ridge United Methodist Church. Thankfully Sherry Sasser Johnston initiated a reunion in 2006 to reinstate the yearly family get together at her Church Bolden-Cardwell Hall in Evergreen, AL. The following year Malcolm Beasley invited the Etheridge’s, his Mother’s side of the family, and other well known Conecuh County families started participating. The yearly get together became known as the Beasley and Allied Family Reunion.
In honor of 10 years of Reunions (2006-2015) Sherry appointed Wilma Tisdale Beasley to prepare a cookbook for our 2016 reunion. Wilma immediately sent out e-mail, Facebook, and snail mail requests asking for everyone favorite recipes and the stories behind them, resulting in the book you are now viewing. Wilma did the typing, Marcy did the formatting, and Malcolm inserted the pictures and did the printing. Thanks Sherry for the idea allowing us to capture delicious memories.
